Why type 2 diabetes is a disease of high insulin levels

Posted on July 26, 2025September 9, 2025 By drshintani No Comments on Why type 2 diabetes is a disease of high insulin levels

When insulin resistance decreases the effectiveness of insulin The pancreas has to put out more insulin to deal with the high blood sugar level. The problem is that high insulin levels causes high blood pressure and other health problems. #drshintani #reversediabetes. #insulinresistance. #reverseinsulinresistance. #highinsulin. #insulinsensitivity. ##bloodsugarcontrol ##prediabetes #greenscreen

Why type 2 diabetes is a disease of high insulin. It seems paradoxical, but while type 1 diabetes is a disease in which the body has virtually no insulin, type 2 diabetes is a disease of too much insulin. How is this possible? The key is insulin resistance, which causes high insulin levels. You see, the job of insulin is to work like a key that opens a door to sugar and amino acids to move out of the bloodstream into the body’s cells where they can be used for energy and metabolism. When there is insulin resistance, the insulin doesn’t work properly and sugar and amino acids remain in the bloodstream. This signals the pancreas to put out more and more insulin and you wind up with high insulin levels. The problem with this is that insulin is lipogenic and helps produce body fat and contributes to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, and cancer. Because both carbs and proteins raise insulin levels, the key is in modifying both dietary carbs and protein. See my next and previous videos about controlling insulin levels.
