The Japanese have the longest life expectancy in the world. These 7 super foods may explain why. No. 1, Matcha tea which is full of the anti-cancer and the anti-inflammatory nutrient epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG. No. 2, Shiitake mushrooms, slows the blood sugar absorption and has anti-cancer effects. No. 3, Natto or fermented soy beans provide nattokinase known to lower blood pressure and break down COVID spike proteins. No. 4, Seaweeds are full of minerals including magnesium which helps with the control of blood pressure, Calcium for bones, and chromium for blood sugar control. No. 5, bittermelon has polypeptide P which mimics insulin and charantin that slows blood sugar absorption. No. 6, Giant radish or or daikon, helps to control blood sugar with its fiber and glucosinolates and it has the anti-cancer nutrient ferulic acid. No. 7, konjac or konnyaku, has a soluble fiber as glucomannan that gives it a glycemic number near zero.

Top 7 beverages to avoid for blood sugar.control

In general, I don’t recommend calorie-containing beverages, because calories in liquid form hit the bloodstream too quickly and raise blood sugar and insulin which promotes obesity and diabetes. These are seven beverages you should consider avoiding for blood sugar control. No.1, of course avoid soft drinks like pop or soda, because of their pure sugar content and often using high fructose corn syrup. Mountain Dew has 11.5 teaspoons of sugar per 12 ounces, which is even more than coke at 10 teaspoons. No. 2, Diet Soda. Unfortunately replacing the sugar with artificial sweeteners may be worse because research suggests that they tend to cause weight gain and some of them may even increase the risk of certain cancers. No. 3, Energy drinks. Most of them are like soft drinks with sugar or artificial sweetener, but with caffeine and herbs added. No. 4, Alcohol raises blood sugar and injures your brain liver and pancreas and increases your risk of cancer. Breast cancer risk goes up at four alcoholic drinks per week. No. 5, Specialty coffees with whipped cream can contain as much as 600 calories or more than a big mac. No.6, Sweetened tea, although it has about a third less sugar than soft drinks, still will cause a blood sugar spike. So it’s better to do unsweetened tea. No. 7, Fruit juice can cause a rise in blood sugar and insulin almost as much as a soft drink. Of course it’s better than a soft drink because there’s some nutrients in it. But if you want nutrients from fruit, it’s better to eat the whole fruit.
