But recently research is supporting my high carb approach. For example a large study of 194,000 people with over 18,000 cases of diabetes revealed that those who ate the most whole grain had a 29% lower risk of diabetes. In another study, looking at the connection between bean and legume intake with diabetes. Researchers found a 35% lower in the incidence of diabetes among those who ate the most beans and legumes compared to those who ate the least.
