Posted on July 11, 2024November 17, 2024 By drshintani No Comments on What anti-diabetes, anti-inflammatory herb is no fun to fight cancer?

What anti-diabetes, anti-inflammatory herb is no fun to fight cancer? Its Berberine which appears to have some effects against cancers of the breast, lung prostate stomach, liver, colorectal, ovarian, and cervix.

This natural compound is known to help control blood sugar, but in 2022, researchers found it useful against various cancers, such as breast, lung, prostate, gastric, liver, colorectal, ovarian, and cervical cancers. It shows potential in inhibiting cancer cell growth inducing apoptosis or natural cell death, suppressing metastasis and enhancing the effect of anticancer drugs. This remarkable supplement is Berberine, the typical dosage ranges from 500 to 1500 milligrams per day. And as with any herb, check with your doctor before using it.

Can this diet fight prostate cancer and PSA? (prostatic specific antigen)

Posted on July 10, 2024November 17, 2024 By drshintani No Comments on Can this diet fight prostate cancer and PSA? (prostatic specific antigen)

Can this diet fight prostate cancer and PSA? (prostatic specific antigen) Free e-book at PeaceDiet.org

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men. The National Cancer Institute points out that around 80% of men who reach 80 years old have prostate cancer cells, but most of them don’t actually become full blown prostate cancer. So how do we prevent prostate cancer cells from growing? One clue is in population studies that countries that consume less fat have less prostate cancer. In a prospective randomized intervention in men with prostate cancer, researchers found that men on a low fat diet composed of just 15% fat showed fatty acid changes associated with decreased prostate cancer growth. In another study, a low fat diet of 10% fat showed a 4% decrease in PSA, which is a marker for prostate cancer, while those on a higher fat control diet had a 6% increase. Of course dietary fat may not be the only factor. Weight loss is also associated with lower prostate cancer risk. For a low fat diet that helps induce weight loss, consider trying my 7 Day Eat More Weigh Less diet program.

Greenscreen

Here are the top 9 foods that fight pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is the 3rd leading cause of cancer death in the US. It is also common in Western Europe, while it’s relatively rare in african, asian, and pacific nations. The one difference in pancreatic cancer mortality probably has a lot to do with the differences in the diet of these countries. So to test the effect of different foods on pancreatic cancer, researchers cultured pancreatic cancer cells in petri dishes and dripped extracts of various foods into the live cancer cell cultures to see their effect on cancer. Results were amazing, 3 food extracts almost completely stopped the growth of pancreatic cancer. These foods were garlic, Leeks, and brussel sprouts. The extracts of some 6 other foods reduced the growth of pancreatic cancer by over 90% including curly cabbage, green onions, yellow onions, kale, broccoli, and beetroot. To learn how to get a more complete list of foods to fight cancer and more info about dealing with cancer, see my summary lecture on 7 Ways to Fight Cancer.

What superfood has two nutrients that act like insulin for blood sugar control?

Posted on July 8, 2024November 17, 2024 By drshintani No Comments on What superfood has two nutrients that act like insulin for blood sugar control?

This superfood has two insulin-like nutrients in it. One is an insulin-like phytonutrient called “Polypeptide P”, which combines with insulin receptors to help lower blood sugar. It also has a second nutrient in it that is a phytonutrient called “Charantin” that helps glucose uptake in liver and muscles to store glucose as glycogen This superfood is Bittermelon. It may play an important role in why Okinawans live so long. In addition to the insulin-like nutrients, it’s full of fiber that slows the absorption of sugar and cholesterol. The fiber also supports the growth of healthy gut flora, which helps to control blood sugar as well. It can be eaten as a side dish, and it’s also available as a supplement, typical dosage in research is 2000 milligrams of bittermelon extract per day. As with any supplement, talk with your doctor first before using it.

68% less risk of stroke connected to this?

Posted on July 7, 2024November 17, 2024 By drshintani No Comments on 68% less risk of stroke connected to this?

According to the World Stroke Organization, approximately one in four people is expected to have a stroke sometime in their life. Many people fear stroke and the resulting mental and physical disability more than they fear death. Most people don’t realize that this simple activity is connected to up to 68% less stroke, that is sleeping the right amount of hours. An international case control study shows that people that sleep around 7 hours per night have a 68% lower risk of stroke compared to people who sleep 5 hours or less per night. They also found that those who sleep more than 9 hours per night, are associated with double the risk of stroke compared to those who sleep around who sleep 7 hours per night. Of Course other factors like diet and exercise also affect stroke risk, but it’s clear that good sleep plays an important role.

Improve your memory and reduce your risk of brain decline, neuropathy, kidney disease, heart, disease, and diabetic retinopathy

Posted on July 5, 2024November 17, 2024 By drshintani No Comments on Improve your memory and reduce your risk of brain decline, neuropathy, kidney disease, heart, disease, and diabetic retinopathy

This supplement protects against nerve, kidney, and eye damage from high blood sugar.

Most people fear dementia more than death. The debilitating results of chronically high blood sugar or uncontrolled diabetes contribute to brain decline and cause nerve damage, kidney damage, cardiovascular damage, and eye damage. Now a supplement which is considered a drug in some countries, appears to help protect against all these effects. It is Benfotiamine, a fat soluble form of vitamin B1 precursor. Because it is fat soluble, it appears to penetrate tissues more effectively and may improve memory and reduce diabetic neuropathy, kidney disease, heart disease, and diabetic retinopathy. Typical dose used is from 150mg to 600mg per day. So consider benfotiamine, but first check with your doctor to see if it’s right for you.
